Halloween Downtown

Halloween is not canceled in Sutherlin! Halloween Downtown 2020 will take place Saturday, October 31, from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. in Downtown Sutherlin. This night local businesses that have a storefront downtown are encouraged to provide candy to children. We will also have a Trunk or Treat Area set up for businesses and nonprofits that do not have a shop downtown in the Library/Senior Center parking and the Umpqua Bank parking lot. This is where you are welcome to bring your company vehicle and/or set up a booth and pass out candy to Trick or Treaters. This event will look a bit different from years past, however. To properly follow CDC guidelines for Halloween events we will be conducting a one-way trick-or-treating event held outdoors where protective masks are used and people can remain more than 6 feet apart. Individually wrapped candies or goodie bags will be lined up on tables for children to grab and go while continuing to social distance. We are not able to “hand out” candy or leave a bowl out with candy. We are developing a map and planning a route for participants to use. These will be available to pick up at the parking lots of Library/Senior Center, Umpqua Bank and TubTime Treasures.
